Sint Janskathedraal - Den Bosch

Together with Kings of Colors, I transformed what was once a plain, grey entrance into a warm and colourful gateway.
The residents wanted a welcoming and recognisable entrance featuring the iconic Sint Janskathedraal and a barn owl—symbols that reflect the spirit of the city.
The result is a space that not only brightens the environment but also enhances the everyday experience of the people who live there.

It was a technically demanding mural, making it a rewarding challenge from start to finish.
The entire artwork was created exclusively with spray paint—no brushes, markers, or stencils were used.

To save time during the layout phase, Jan-Henk van Ieperen and I used a VR projection system to transfer the sketch onto the wall. It was my first experience working this way, and as someone who normally prefers traditional methods, I was genuinely fascinated by how accurate and efficient the technology proved to be. It’s a tool I will mainly use for projects with tight deadlines or technically challenging locations.

The response from the residents has been incredibly positive. 🙏🏼🥳🎨
They are thrilled with their new, warm, and recognisable entrance. Even passers-by regularly stopped to watch the mural take shape, often saying, “I’d love to have something like this too.”

A well-designed mural does more than transform a wall. It adds identity, atmosphere, and emotional value to a building and the people who experience it.
